The Monster Knife fish-Gymnarchus Niloticus " Aba Aba"

Kevin that's the same fish I've shown before. I bought it at 7" from John at Pets Plus in Lockport New York on Feb 17, 2000. I actually also bought another 6" aba the same day from Jake at The Fish Place in North Tonawanda NY (It passed away in 2005) .
This one never got very big. The pic was taken when it was in a 560 g (2120 litre tank). It moves every year it seems between that tank and a 480g (1817 litres) and a 360g (1363 litres). I rotate fish outside in the summers that reside in those tanks. Then move the fish still inside to the tank(s) the fish just left after it is stripped and cleaned. The fish it rotates tanks with are my Australian lungfish and my electric eel.
The aba is still about 37 to 38" with no visible growth anymore. This past winter it resided in the 360 g (8' by 3' high by 2' wide) and might have that tank for a while as both the Aussie and the eel are too big for it anymore. In time I will move the Aussie to an 800 and the aba will get one of the 500g size tanks again. I would love to put it in my big tanks but I don't think it would not survive there. As well I rarely add fish anymore to them as they are pretty full just with fish growing out in them.
