You've mentioned...That would be Hydrilla I think and it is everywhere here. The LFS down the street sells it too. You should grab some when you come to visit. :)

Lots more too but they were too quick to get any decent shots of or were not present on this particular trip. I have seen mollys, flag fish, bull & channel catfish, gar (during the summer mostly), american eels, and a manatee in these springs to name a few.
 
amazing place man! do you need some kind of permit or anything to swim there? or is it open to the public? def on my list to do if i ever visit florida.

nope, it is a park and you have to pay a fee to swim/ snorkel/ tube/ canoe there and an additional fee to camp/ scuba but they are pretty minimal as far as fees go. Well worth it in my opinion.
