Vieja Argentea, Zonatum, Motas, Female festae, Sals, JDs... and although cons aren't typically that colorful, I think they make a good basic 'tone' for a fish tank meaning no, they don't display a massive amount of color, only improving the look of the ones that do. :D

I think I like this setup the most. I was thinking of doing something similiar in a 375g, and the Viejas and Zonatums are good ideas, as well as Red Tiger Motas with the list of previously added fish. I think a big female JD and a nice GT would be alright too..

I don't want any oscars, common, or 'cliche' fish.. Although JDs and GT's are common, they are easily obtainable and still outstanding fish.

I already have a Uaru, Green Severum, and Gold Severum to start out with, just need to slowly build the collection. I am also growing out 2 Paratilapia Polleni, 7 Turqoise Jewels, and hopefully find some more fish Im looking for.

That is very true, but if you consider for a moment that they are hybrids of CA/SA cichlids, one might consider them as such.

True FH's are hybrids, but they are classified as SA/CA cichlids. You won't find them in the wild, but you will find Trimac's and Midas in the wild. Two of the fish thought to be used in "creating" FH's.

My point exactly!:D

I would say, JD, GT, Female Festea and female Moto, certain oscars, RD's Midas, full grown male Jags. Firemouths, ummmmm, there's quite a few, Severums of all strains are real lookers when they mature.

Lots of Pikes grow into real show pieces. Theres way to many to list IMO

dude nothing has a more intense blue that the blue acara. they are rather peacefull and dont gert huge and they love driftwood and caves. actually in the wild the make tunnels in the roots of trees n' stuff
