The most commonly "active" poly

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
senegals are usually the most energetic for me.

OK, after reading a mitochondrial DNA analysis of poly species this is starting to make sense. Delhezi senegalus palmas and teugelsi are all closely related, and they all happen to be the ones recommended for activity. Interesting. Maybe they needed to be more active in the wild then other bichir

upper jawed bichirs are generally the more energetic bichirs.

I think the best way to go is to buy a few. Now that I have 10 bichirs there are always at least two or three cruising around. If I want to see them all move around I drop a single massivore in the tank. Its pretty awesome watching them all come out of the woodworks looking for the pellet.

My Del is the most active followed by my albino sen. My gold dust and regular sen are big time hiders but come out for food.

tell that to my ornate or my buddys weeksii haha, his little endl cruises while his weeksii just sits there all day and moves a bit at night. the upper jaws I stated are more closely related then they are to the other uppers

thanks for the input everyone! much appreciated, can't wait to get my tank all done so I can post some pics of it, just a couple more things I need (decor and facade wise) before I feel comfortable putting em up haha

The older bichirs are generally the laziest ones.

my endlis are definitely the most active.
