The MOST expensive fish I have ever bought...

It's also funny how cheap your RTCs are over there. Here in australia they are $700+ each for a little 5" fish.
that's seem like a good way to not seeing big RTC swimming in native water like here in the U.S.

I have bought so many fish in my life I can't even keep track of what I spent for the most expensive one. I have awesome friends, met awesome MFKers and etc. That I don't think I have ever really paid a ton for a fish. Maybe $30 for the most expensive single fish. I have paid more for a group of fish though. I got my frontosa colony at .5-1inch for $100 + $70 for shipping - thats probably the most I have spent on a single fish order.

I'm surprised such a fish is even allowed in that country for the hobby.

A lot of common aquarium fish here are actually illegal to import into the country but are legal to own once they are in. It would be great if every fish species was available but unfortunately there are some very irresponsible people out there who release non native fish into the wild.

So the status changes once the fish has made it to the hobbyists possession,interesting....I can imagine a few RTC doing a good bit of damage to native fish if released in the right locations there.
