The most restrictive pet-ownership legislation on Earth

Just been going through various news sources regarding this. It indeed appears to be way over the top. and very poorly thought out. Good intentions I'm sure, but wow.

I would imagine that with all of the various organizations voicing their concerns, the city will revamp their proposal long before any of this becomes law.
Some of the changes make perfect sense, a lot of it is just plain nuts. I would have expected something like this in TO, or Montreal, not Winnipeg.

Yes, this nonsense has "Toronto" written all over it. I really thought I had escaped this type of thinking when I moved from Onterrible to Manitoba...and that was largely the case...but stupidity is a virus that is more far-reaching and fast-spreading than any Covid variant could ever be.

I do suspect that it's a standard case of "hitting them high" and then, after the smoke clears, dropping the restrictions to a somewhat more reasonable level...hoping that we will be thankful for what we got (or lost).

Many thanks to anybody from outside of the immediately affected area for doing the survey. The more responses the lawmakers get, the more likely they are to realize that they just might be garnering the wrong kind of attention with this proposal.
