The mutts that live with my special lil lady.....

I think ive identified my problems. Scalling back has made things easier and my current pups seem to be doing well even though they are in a hospital tank with a 10" female ive had for 4 or 5 yrs that i almost lost (pups are 4" so not ideal to be in with an older ray).
So you think it was a contact transfered desease that was the problem ?
Glad you mentioned the morays. Ive been looking at them for a while because i liked yours.

I'm sure there's many out there that would be quick to argue, but I kept G. Tile FW morays long before the salt morays that were long before the Polyurandons. My salt eels grew like weeds. My G Tiles grew swiftly when kept in pure salt yet when in FW they died, brackish they seemed to do the same as Polyuranadons in pure FW, they just don't seem to grow like they should. They've been regularly offered in the hobby for what? 10 years? And still how many big ones do you see? Just the Wild Caught 30+"ers that are $500++ Also typically when I keep fish the only time they REALLY try to escape is when they are unhappy. I've never had morays attempt to bail tanks like the Polyuranadons. One things sure, tankmates must be carefully selected or the things just won't eat.

As far as the disease that killed the rays I don't believe there is anything out there that is transferable by touch? I think that black rays are just that much hardier then Marbles. I had a newborn Marble behind the divider with the blackies and I lost the Marble while the blackies didn't even go off food.

Here's the last pups.... Unfortunately one is a half bat. Patterns seem pretty nice for 2 months old..... :) IMG_1942.JPG

That's too bad... I know of a place that would definitely be more accepting of disabilities a short drive from you.;)

Thanks Kevin! I'm very thankful to have her... She helps fill the void left by OJ. :(

Thanks for the info.
I think yr water is better than mine as my rays often look like the paterrns are washed out . Not even mentioning the problems ive had so mine are not looking their best or even close . A couple are really skinny too (so if i post pics dont have a go). Ive only got about 8 adult rays left now after deaths and selling some and I have two pups a couple of weeks old from my small rays.
That last pic you posted is a stunning shot !
Makes me want to try harder !
