Hey folks. For you hard core MFKers I'm sure you've seen the Red Sea posts by yours truly and I've decided after having moved a few good size 80+gallon tanks around I will make a photo journey of our swap between nanos. Sorry to have to photo forum posts so close.

Gearing up for the swap I've moved all of the little predators out of my 60gallon, and hooked up an extra skimmer after churning the sand to let it help filter stuff out for the next 3-4 days. Pics of that will follow.

On the other end we've begun beefing up our stocklist of coral for the new tank. These include:

Blue open brain coral
Blue zooanthid
Branching Sun coral
4 inch frag off of a Red and Green Favites.

Pics of these will follow once I retrieve the camera this evening. The whole point of this journey will be the interesting (I think) as moving a long running nano system into a new system is nothing shy of a pain in the butt. Due mostly to the fact that everything must be kept warm and submerged, and of course that growth of corals is hard to regulate in a contolled pattern.

Pics will hit in about 12 hours and continue through sundayish. Thanks.

WTF? where's the pics? :D

Just a few more hours. Oddly enough have to get through my intro to oceanography class in which I'm no longer allowed to go off on tangents...Maybe I do have a fish problem.

3-4 hours, they'll be here.

does chatting on MFK during class count as a tangent?

No, chatting on MFK does not get me into trouble. However when the teacher asks, "Anybody able to tell me why the ecosystem in the ocean is possible?" the class let's out an audible groan as I stand where I am and begin a dissertation of current cycles, nutrient distribution, light and heat importance, oceanographic differences, etc...

Then after a twenty minute impromptu speech the teacher says great, but not what I was after.

To think that the hobby alone provides such a base of knowledge. My, I am pretentious.

As promised. The first is my 60gallon which we moved the juvy preds out of. As it turns out my light did not switch off like it should and thick saltwater doesn't move through the skimmer like thinner water does. We're pulling out most of the sand and all of the rock for the new nano system. The new guys included at the bottom. Starting off with a flame blenny colored for night time. Following is the arrow crab that immediately started sharing the anemone with the clowns. The red and green fav., the branching sun coral and the blue zoos after. More pics on saturday when we start moving water and supplies.
