The nano swap

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
He does but this up until now was just an easy reefer for the girlfriend. She likes to overfeed and I've pulled 8inch bristleworms out of there. Now that I'm taking charge of it I don't think we'll continue to have this problem. I've said it elsewhere but in my predator tank I could stir the sand bare handed and not get stung, not so the case with this one. When I load the next barrage of pics (hopefully a little clearer than these) I'll see if we can't find a few big'uns. So in long answer, yes he eats the bristleworms, just hasn't had time to seriously effect their population yet.

And now the boring continuation. This is the rock, sand, filter sponges, hermits that weren't eaten and the algae. Two 5gallons full of rock and one of sand. Not too bad for a sixty, though I am still racking my brain on fitting it into a 35 gallon tank. Perhaps I'll set a sump up on this one two?

More pics in the later a.m. Funny though on the algae. Four months of growth on the lfs's 1 portion. Not too bad.

All right. We're about halfway through this operation. As it turns out, 120+ lbs of live rock isn't going to fit into this bad boy like I had hoped. Just not enough circulation/space. The water is still cloudy right now, and we're acclimating everyone in the bins. About 20 gallons of water has been changed and we've almost made it through the murk. Pictured are the current corals, fish in the candy dish, clean up crew etc...

...Oh, and no transfer is complete without a 12er of good beer.

Here we go then. Day after tank setup, the water column has cleared up and from here on it's just occasional coral adding. Newly added are the yellow zoo's, frogspawn, green bird's nest and monitpora.

Ok then. I've had the Red Sea up and running for a few months and here's what it looks like now. During this time we've moved so the arrangement is a bit different and through comparison you can see which of the corals have grown. Only loss was my green bubble tip anemone. He moved right next to the hairy green mushroom and the mushroom won.

Most notably, the green bird's nest is doing wonderfully. Added to the list are a black sun coral and an elegance.

Thanks very much. My trite tank certainly pales in comparison with the amazing things you have done however.

That is my first reach into "difficult" keepers. He's growing very slowly but once I moved him from the back wall of the tank the round shape has really started to show.

The zoo's are the funniest in the tank. The green and orangies came on a bargain bin rock almost two years ago and have finally spread onto another rock in the past 2 months. Of course the yellow zoo's have begun to dominate the rocks their on including 4 completely separate places in the tank.
