As Frank had asked, why is it that almost all ponds/monster tanks in Asia always seem to be lined with tiles rather than epoxy? Is there anything special that needs to be done with the tiles? Are they coated in any way? What type of tiles are they? What type of grout is used for them? I personally love the look of the tiles, and have been thinking about the possibility of using them whenever I finally get a chance to do a permanent pond.

Cheaper than epoxy maybe?

In Taiwan raising ray's people thought that the use tint department the ceramic tile can let the ray and the peripheral environment color has a bigger dropping variance. Can appear the ray bright color. Increases the ray the ornamental value.

very correctly said, under the tile we also coat with water proof material such as fiber coating or epoxy. the ceramix tile is for easy maintenance and nice look.
