OK!!!!!

So i finally got this damn tank running! I've had it sitting in my garage for over 4 months since I really didnt have a need to set it up. This tank will be used as a growout for my cichla. When they move up to the 400g, I may consider getting one single fish for this tank. Maybe a nice beani or umbie :naughty:

Now, on to the setup. Those who have seen my setups know that I like to keep things simple and avoid the "look-ma-I'm-an-over-achiever" type plumbing. I like it easy to assemble and disassemble if I ever need to move the tank:

- Tank itself is in great shape, and I spent some time buffing out the inside and outside. It's 48x24x30, 150g acrylic, curved corners, built in overflow, matching stand & canopy.

- All plumbing is 1" with unions all over the place. Overflow feeds into the sump through a filter sock inlet/attachment.

- The sump is DIY out of an old 55g. I took apart the face of the stand and shoved that mother in there! It's not coming out. Cross your fingers for no leaks! I still dont have a drip plate so the youll see the water is just dripping over the edge. No worries yet since my established media is in the pump chamber as you can see in the pics. Further discussion on my sump design here: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/fo...d.php?t=246132

- Filtration is powered by a Quiet One 4000 that does 1017gph if I remember correctly. I also tossed in a few spare heaters in the sump.

- Lighting is a Hagen Glo 48" dual T5HO fixture with 18,000k and 10,000k bulbs (I won this at the '09 MFK Socal meet :naughty:)

- Decor is pool filter sand mixed with river pebble from Lowe's. Toss in some driftwood and fake plants and you're done! :)

So I think thats it, nothing too complicated, just how I like it :D Current stocklist is as follows:

- 3x Cichla Orinocensis sp. "Rio Negro, Brazil"
- 1x Cichla Orinocensis sp. "Rio Meta, Colombia" from Rapps
- 2x Cichla Monoculus sp. "Peru" from Snookn
- 15x 4-7" clown loaches (these are currently in my 400g, not sure how i'm gonna get them out yet.

Now on to the pics. Any questions? Feel free to ask :)
