I just thought I would say hi to everyone since I'm new. Right now I only have a 55 gal. tank with 3 fish. That's kind of a big deal for me. The first fish that I got was a male kenyi. I didn't know that at the time. Anyway, he killed every single fish that I put in with him including a couple of females. Right now though there is a female kenyi in with him, and she's been there for a good minute. Hopefully things will go well, and I'll have some fry to try to get rid of. So that's me. Oh yeah, and the 3rd fish is an algae eater nothing special except he's survived with "Mommy's Little Monster".

hey, how you doing? Post some pics of your tanks PLEASE

EDIT: OH and welcome to MFK!! Enjoy your stay. I'm sure you'll learn a lot and hopefully we'll learn a thing or two from you

Welcome...

You would probably be best off with more fish in the tank to spread out the aggression. That male is probably going to harrass that one poor female endlessly. If you haven't already done so, add a lot of "furnishings" to the tank i.e. rocks, caves, pots or whatever to give the fish cover.

Best Regards...

Welcome.
Get more mbuna for that tank 2 is an unstable relationship with any mbuna.
Post some questions in the african cichlids section youll get more help there, good luck!

Hey There,

Well I am new here too. This site is so exciting to me, to get advice from people that know probably more then I do about tanks, however I have had a very Big passion for years. I've had tanks since I was 10 and haven't had any, (except for the one in my office) for about 6 years. I am very excited that I am getting back into it. I'm hoping to gather some helpful information here before I set up my big tank at home.

Hope to see you around.

welcome to mfk people. Stay around and and we''l introduce to some nice monsters :D

Well, nothing very special. I have a small tank in my office, 3 neons, 2 red eye tetras, 2 barb tetras, and algie eater and one that I have no idea. (I saved him from a friend that was going to dispose of him) I'm not sure all these names are accurate but I did my best. I guess if I'm gona talk the lingo in here I should maybe get some sort of book on fish with pics so that I know what I'm talking about. I have a 50(??) gallon at home waiting to be put up and trying to decide what kind of fish to start with. Sorry if I'm wasting your time. You are probably into much bigger and more interesting. ;)
