THE NEW MIDAS TANK!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Midas are wife beaters no matter how you cut it, I had an 8 month old pair in a 180 gallon tank and the male still chased the female around quite a bit between spawns!

He is a Barred Midas. If you have a Barred Midas it's always going to be FULL Citrinelles not like the Orange Pie-bald Midas that are difficult to tell if it's a hybrid RDxMidas unless you get it wild or from a reliable seller like Jeff Rapps.

You say odd colors and I agree. I always see whit and black Barred Midas with brown heads but mine has TON of red all over him.
Thanks for the comment on my fish.

Interesting thanks for sharing man!

My pair has quite a bit of red - the male not so much as the female. Male is the son of Big Head, female is WC from Rapps. They both grow like tanks and are awesome fish, I much prefer them over the orange colors, though a true creamsicle midas would be more preferable.

What are the dimensions on your tank? I bet your Midas would make a 75g seem tiny lol.

The tank is 86"x20"x20" with half inch glass. So it's more like 130 gallons because of glass thickness. He was in a 65 for a while because he kept fighting with my Wild Manny pair in the 125 so into the 65 he went and now he's got double that.
