if your gettin into photography i suggest the nikon D50 or D80........ i have the D50...mega pixles dont matter unless you want to print huge pictures( 10+ mp )..if not then a 5.0 + mp camera is okay.....high resolution is key. ..if you wnat to get a kick ass camera and never have to buy one again then get the nikon D200.....1800 body only.....good luck with your decision...
