Can you tell us details on that monster pump? What is it?

What do you use for mechanical?

Love seeing "under the hood" of other monster tanks. Always motivational...... :)

Fully agreed! Please more info :) :)

10 micron or 100 micron?? Never really seen anyone with a large setup about to run such a small micron rating of 10 on a large system.

I studied the flow chart a long time ago when i first heard of the pump and it was legit. This is what all the saltwater guys around here use.

That's what I was thinking, but heck might be the next pump I buy. Thanks for sharing! ! Have you ever used a killawatt tester and seen what it really uses for power??

Maybe it's just me, but something about that pump doesn't add up. It looks like a $200 BD lol, too good to be true. Did it come with a flow chart???

I should test it to see...

Yup looks like i use the big 10 micron felt socks from aqua eco. I use 4 on my big tanks and i was them every 4 days

Sweet thanks for sharing, high flow seems to push through the low micron socks better then low flow. I saw all the socks hanging in the background :D with the first pics you showed.

Pretty sure this is the pump i have on the new tank. The 8500. I dont think ive seen a better pump out there http://www.evolutionpumps.com/Evolution-Pumps/Evolution-ES-Series-Pumps-sc-11411.html

Wow you did some serious work quick! It all looks great, makes me feel like I need to stop procrastinating so much.

I have & run an evolution ESM 4500. Its quiet, flow and power draw are pretty accurate. I spent a tiny bit more on the ESM series instead of the ES for the higher quality marathon motor and its been well worth it. Pump is a great bang for your buck.

All anyone on here ever seems to recommend is reeflo or laguna haha.
