Common name: South American Bumblebee Catfish, False Bumblebee Catfish

Care Level: Easy

Size: 2-4"

Temperature range: 22.0-26.0°C or 71.6-78.8°F

Origin: Venezuela and Colombia

Temperament: Peaceful, but will eat whatever will fits in their mouth

Compatible Tankmates: Anything they can't eat, or be eaten by.

Diet: Predators- Goes nuts for brine shrimp but will eat just about anything.

Tank Size for Adult: you could get away with a 10g for a single specimen or maybe a little more, but you may as well go 20g.

Narrative: Mine likes to burrow and squeeze into impossibly small spots. Only comes out to eat and even then lights need to be kind of low.

Temperament: Peaceful as long as they have their own territory

Compatible Tankmates: best kept in a species tank

Diet: Predatory, typical betta fare

Tank Size for Adult: pairs can be housed in a 2.5 gallon tank and breed successfully.

Narrative: a paternal mouthbrooding species of the picta complex. They aren't very colorful, but they are still a pretty fish.

Temperament: Aggressive. What else would be expected from a puffer?

Compatible Tankmates: none, unless it is meant for food

Diet: Predatory. Crustaceans, snails, bloodworms, krill

Tank Size for Adult: 10 gallon

Narrative: An alternative to the usual dwarf puffer. They're a little bit nastier. Produces a lot of waste

Temperament: keeps to itself may be agressive

Diet: Predatory only live foods use ghost shrimp and live black worms

Tank Size for Adult: lets say no less that a 20long

narative: quite often mixed up with the nandus nandus
they look not so alike when you realy look at them the nandus mercatus snout is shorter and its darker in coloration

Temperament: social and does not like boisterous tankmates

Compatible Tankmates: anything peaceful and big enough not to be eaten

Diet: Predatory. Prefers live or frozen worms, brine shrimp, etc. Will not eat flakes

Tank Size for Adult: 55 gallon

Narrative: A good knifefish for beginners. They like lots of hiding places, such as plants and driftwood. They use an electric organ to navigate through their environment. Does not take well to copper and formalin.
