Hello; OK, why don't you go first. Give us a place to start. Never mind I have questions.
A friend intends to set up a 75 gallon. What should such a freshwater setup cost?
He asked about the "best" HOB and I suggested to find the quietist and one with replacement impellers available.
He is old school like me and intends to use UGF's as well. Where do we get them.

(NOTE- this is his idea. I no longer encourage others to start keeping fish. This guy started keeping fish back in the late 1950's as I did. Not sure how long he has been out of the hobby.)

Go on Craig's list and get a cheap 75 with some frills thrown in(filters decor etc),then find some spare filters on craigslist(forget spare propellers when u can get whole extra filters for that cheap) he shouldn't spend more than $120 total.

General question for a general thread: What fish is good?

Thanks in advance for your input.
Christmas fulu if u like cichlids, longear sunfish for natives, albino farlowellas for oddballs, cherry barbs for beginners.
Your welcome.

So why do you no longer encourage others to keep fish?
