The Official Rio Doce Kelberi Grow Out Thread!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Snap some photos to keep the grow out thread going. I looked back from the first page of this thread and it is AMA zing how much these have developed and evolved.

I'll get some as soon as I make the switch this week some time but I got a new phone so I'll be able to get more pics now a lot easier than before

Very nice boost. I've been out of the game for alittle while due to some personal financial issues. I cannot wait to get back in.

Nice! Looking good bigpac.

I snapped a few crappy shots while doing a water change tonight.

LOL its so funny how the little bit of extra time you got is that much of a difference mine are showing fin spots but not as bright just yet it's like mine are a week behind yours lol but I've got 2 that are spot morphing or I dunno what you'd call it but I see more going on with body markings rt now than spotting it's weird I'll get some posted up after I get all my tanks done tonight I've got to pull one of bass to go with this smaller tem it's not liking it's current conditions at all

These were last week's water change pics bOOsteN how much are your eating? I can't keep up with them lol I feed them 3 times a day on pellets and shrimp pellets in between the feeding when I get home and before I go to bed View attachment 1222594 View attachment 1222595 View attachment 1222596

Interesting. I'm going to say it's probably due to my water parameters. It's a combo of the low tds levels, low GH and KH in my water. My nitrates are under 15 ppm and my ph is at 6.7ppm. You have sand in your tank so I'm going to say that your water is a bit harder. One of my kels is the odd man out and shows no spangling at all and is on the darker side.

These guys eat but don't stuff themselves.

Maybe I know we naturally have hard water in az but it maybe also the pellet difference Cuz the pellets I used when I got them I'm still blowing threw so that might have some thing to do also but I'm not too worried Cuz looking at them rt now they do look closer to yours some are just starting to get red in the tail fin just took this one quickly now there all hiding Currently I started my wc lol

I posted these images once already in another thread but I figured that I'd bump the official thread and document their growth here.

These are really starting to get nice. I believe I see a few spots where some anal fin spangling is about to come through. I also notice for a while now that they all have black markings on their foreheads. Maybe these will have that nice black bar across their brow that you see in kels sometimes.
