another vote for before adding water/ while adding.

if you want to be extra careful (without using buckets) you could add half or more before filling then the rest after you are done filling.

Because I do 50% or greater WC, I add half the recommended dose to my tanks before I start refilling and then add the rest towards the end of the process.

2. The reason I never did put prime in before starting the python up(refilling) is because, I thought the Prime was instantaneous. So wouldn't putting it in before just like use the Prime instantly then your adding in the water which still has the chlorine and etc., the Prime would already be gone wouldn't it?

Prime remains active for 48 hours after adding. If using to lock nitrites and ammonia during a spike, de-dose each 48 hours until all levels are zero. This information came directly from the company.

if you add prime to the water before adding to the tank dose for the amount of water being added ( 10ml/100gal)

if you add water water directly to the tank ( python) add prime to tank before filling and dose for the tank volume not the amount of water you add

I always used to add enough Prime when using a python , based upon the total amount of water in the tank, not just how much water I'm replacing, worked for me for 3 years.

Changed Municpal water supplies , when I moved . Now I pretreat, prefilter stored water before using a pump to refill tank...chorline levels are off the chart and vary too much for me to get a handle on it...Always seemed like I had new tank sysdrome if I exchanged more than 25% of the water.

Does well water have chlorine in it or just city folk water.

water only has chlorine if someone puts it in... so unless you or someone puts chlorine in your well then it doesn't...
