Good to know you daughter shows interest in this hobby, my 5 yr. old boy loves my midas. He named him Lucas from the Ant Bully movie. Just curious, how much did you pay for it if you don't mind me asking? Blacks at that size go for $250 over here. Congrats.

as soon as they need it they will be in a 40breeder, then a 125gal then a 180gal. by the time they out grow the 180gal i will have moved and have my pond set up. i have a 1000gal pond just need to set it up. then ill be building my 10,000 gal pond in my house. i have raised many aros (over 20) over the years of fish keeping i have done. i just have not had any in the last few months since my lastgroup got killed by pesticide.
these aros are 2.5" right now.

thanks pharm. yes they will be with the gars. for a while anyway. they will end up in seperate displays at the house, but if i am not there before they need the larger space they will go with the gars. ill have to get rid of my bowfin though. it has eatten an aro the same length as it. ill have to see how my house hunt goes in relation to the growth rate of them.
around me everything has gone up. i have gotten aros for $6 before. now even in season you cant find one here for less then $30. i may get a few more if i can find some wholesale...to make the diff in what i paid extra for these. i mainly got them without looking for any wholesale because i had store credit off some fronts and an ornate. that combined with me telling my daughter to pick what she wanted and she picked these.
hell i paid $10 for some floridas a bit ago and now they are $30 each. it is crazy. rays have gone down and others have gone up. doesnt make sence.

in the 10k there will be arapimas, big cats like piraibas, and a few other items i am cooking up. it will be an add on that will be multi level. typical pond view from the main floor and in the sub level den it will be a viewing wall to see it like a tank.

thanks, one has really started to take over dominance. i hope that it will stop at the higher achy fighting it has seemed to be and not raise to the "highlander theroy". though that seems to be my luck with aro groups.
