The Patriot Act

In high school debates this year's resolve was that "The United States federal government should substantially decrease its authority either to detain without charge or to search without probable cause." Me and my partner, on varsity may I add, were affirmative and argued for modifications of the Patriot Act to protect civil liberties, yet still keep higher protection for any attacks. We won a couple and lost a couple debates.

the two party system fails. democrats and republicans are just as bad as each other.

I can't remember who said it but a quote I like was something to the effect that "The best government of all is a benevolent tyranny, when it drifts away from benevolence it can be changed with a single bullet."
