If you read up on the F&W cichla introductions to South Florida, Temensis were initially in the mix. It was Tems, Occell, and Mono. Tems were the ones that didnt cope with our colder temps. That doesnt mean that they couldnt have interbred. I wouldnt completely dismiss Tem genes in these guys, however after all the generations, Mono/Occel are what you will find.

Nice picture, I know its a hybrid but some hybrids look more like monos and that's one nice black top and orange bottom
 
Colors always look nicest as Breeding, These guys had a cloud of a few hundred babies...
