Day three and he's still scarfing it down.

My only gripe is that it's VERY messy. Alot of it gets expelled through his gills as he's "chewing" it.

I'm thinking I may dehydrate it a bit to firm it up.

Doesn't that happen when feeding pellets? From what I've noticed, they usually expel more than they eat..
But look on the bright side, he's loving it as you said..

I exaggerated on the size. He's a little over 10" (I measured him). I was feeding him Grand Sumo Red, Omega One Cichlid, and Almost Natural Cichlid in the morning and in the evening I was feeding him shrimp, salmon, tilapia, and the occasional earth worm. He was never really excited about the pellets but he ate them. A few days ago he started refusing all the pellets which led me to try making my own food.

Well even at 10", he looks beefed up.. I'm now feeding mine more superworms to fatten him up.. Superworms are like cocaine to him lol he goes crazy everytime & can't seem to have enough..
What's the dimension of your tank, 4x2x2 ?
