I'm going with Romney. I grew up in MA, and he had the balls to stand up to the corrupt bastards like Tom Finneran, the speaker of the house in Boston now being indicted on corruption charges. Giuliani is too "liberal" for me.

Now, I'm going to go into an explaination of what I think political "liberalism" is, because it's not the true definition of what the word really means.

Political liberalism seems to entail political correctness, tiptoe-ing around as to not offend anyone. It involves getting into every aspect of people's lives. David W mentioned the patriot act. That's a far cry from what "Liberals" like Nancy Pelosi want for us. We're no longer going to be allowed to smoke outside. San Francisco is trying to regulate smoking in your own home. But hey, that's being liberal! No guns, according to liberals. We musn't be allowed to police/defend ourselves. No Trans Fats! They tell us what to eat that's healthy instead!!!!!!

Sounds like the religious police in Saudi Arabia, who will hold you inside a burning building if you're a woman without a burqa.

Affirmative action! Hey, great idea, let's give all the people whos relatives we may have harm tons of opportunities and money, while whitey gets crapped on!!!!!!! Did my relatives enslave anyone? NO!!!!!!!! MY ANCESTORS ARE JEWS FROM RUSSIA!!!!!!! My father marched in Selma Alabama and had his best friend beaten to death in front of him by the police. BUT HEY!!!!!!!!!! LET'S PUNISH ME INSTEAD!!!!!!!!!!! Really smooth thinking, "liberal". If they're so closed minded, we can't call them "liberals".

"Conservative", in the true sense of the word, sticks to the constitution.

Guns for all!
Don't tell me what to eat!
Don't tell me where I can smoke!
Cut the fat off of the government. Too much social aid turns into social A.I.D.S., and will end up killing our society.

Perfect political party for me?
One that follows the contsitution. Verbatim. Screw Bush. Screw Kerry. Screw all of them.

:headbang2 That was a great post!

Screw Bush

Well its good to know at least one person can say that without having to put up with

"OH LIBERAL LIBERAL LIBERAL YOUR A LIBERAL!!!!!!I'M SURROUNDED BY LIBERAL DOUCHEBAGS!!!!!LIBERAL DOUCHE I CALL LIBERAL DOUCHE !!!!"

LOL what hypocrisy. But it was a good post.

How does it feel knowing you share almost exactly the same views (on much of what you posted there anyway) as somone you consider a "LIBERAL DOUCHE"?

(and yes thats a hypothetical question, just something to think about ;) )

LOL are you not reading my posts at all?

there you go again: "OH LIBERAL LIBERAL LIBERAL YOUR A LIBERAL!!!!!!I'M SURROUNDED BY LIBERAL DOUCHEBAGS!!!!!LIBERAL DOUCHE I CALL LIBERAL DOUCHE !!!!"

Yes I ponted out one thing you said, and mentioned that I agree with most of the rest, and your so closed minded (and thus liberal,no) you wont even stop to think about it,LOL

What you call the important parts of your post and what I call the important parts of your post are two different things.

Heres what I found to be the more important part:

I'd like to see a true conservative party. Does away with affirmative action. Lets capatalism run it's course. Put restrictions on immigration.
QUOTE]

Interesting thread. I would think a true capitalist would embrace illegal immigration, as any influx of cheap, unprotected labor would provide a powerful counterbalance to organized labor. If you allow capitalism to "run it's (sic) course" then a borderless society would be the ideal scenario, with no restrictions on trade, commerce, or capital (capital being any inculcation of investment potential - labor, wealth, technology, etc.).

Any how do you define affirmative action? I am not aware of any "entitlement" benefits in federal law that sets aside privileges for the disadvantaged. I believe that most (if not all) federal programs exist to mitigate racism as a factor in hiring or housing. Some state programs DO have setasides, mostly requiring certain percentages of public bids to have a certain amount of minority involvement.

Either way - my ideal (or close to ideal) political party is one that breaks down the rigidity of the federal system, and returns political power to the state and local level. Taxes are graduated with the highest taxes on large amounts of wealth, but seriously regressed taxes (or none) or escalated incentives on individual investments beneath a certain threshold. In other words, a form of quasi-capitalism that uses smaller amounts of wealth on the family or community level to stimulate economic growth. I think I'd be a radical socialist conservative by definition ...

Most of the time, political parties focus their election season approach on inane social issues, like illegal immigration, affirmative action, and patriotic duty to mask their shallow and blatantly unproductive economic platforms. We beat our drums for things that really don't matter to us, simply because someone else says we should. The parties strive not to educate, but to inflame. It would be interesting if any political party could actually be honest about their intentions. I would like to think my ideal one would be.
