Oh. And a question about reds if neone can answer it. There is a fish store about 35 miles from me who has 2 rbp in same tank. Small tank like 10g or so. There about 3.5-4 inches each. They've been in there together for a long while that I know of and have no signs of fighting or scars etc... I thought there was a 1 or 3 law with these fish. Is it possible this is a paired up set? Or just **** waiting to hit the fan

they're probably too small to be a pair in the sense of a mating pair. i also have seen other tanks with just a pair, usually similar size and have been together for awhile. I still wouldn't recommend people buying 2 and putting them together. red belly shoals are way more active and fun to keep if you can house them. 1 to 2 reds no matter how big have got to be boring as hell to keep

I used to want a 100gal+ full of piranha, now I am surrounded by them hahaha
Sooo, money being no object I would want a 1500-3000 gallon and I would try to breed rhoms or another difficult species. This will happen when I am rich LOL....

Anything big enough to get a properly huge school of like 30 RBP's on the go, can imagine feeding time being like the bit in jurassic park when they lower the cow on the winch lol. I just find schools cooler to look at than individual badass fish.

That would be an awesome sight!

I'd go for a 9x4x3, with dim lighting, and blackwater. Sand substrate, wood/branches and small rocks. Maybe a few small spotlights to light some areas more than others. As for the fish, for me it has to be a school of 20 RBP's, (think the tank's big enough)?

What I could've done is to turn a section of my basement into one big indoor pond with a big viewing window. but too late now since the basement is already finished and don't feel like re do it all over.
if I had it my way this is how it's gonna be: 12ft long x 6ft wide x 3-4ft tall, 2ft off the floor. filtration will probably be a bead filter for mechanical and go through a chamber of bio media and plants for bio filtration and return in the form of a stream or small water fall. depends on price of the bead filter, I could use a big wet/dry to save money.
want to make the pond out of concrete so bare bottom won't look too ugly, besides I can have drain holes at the bottom instead of on the side, makes collecting waste easier.
if I want to add live plants then the back and both sides will have gutter about 6-12" wide, few inches deep, filled with substrate (sand or gravel, etc) which will be used for plants.
lighing will mostly be done by the sun since I have a window there, I could mount some mirrors to help direct sunlight to where I want. for night time viewing or whenever sun is not available I can use MHs.

A shoal of 20 to 30 rbp would be badass. As for breeding rhoms. I've talked about that on here before and done some research. Its possible. Which so is hitting the lottery. But it takes a huge tank. Google "breeding black rhom". I also like the blackwater setup idea. Those r sweet
