What I find interesting is how some stores now will sell 'rare' tailless convicts and parrots and call them heart fish. The convict looks healthy and and little sev doesn't even look too bad right now.
In the past I rescued more fish, but I realized one day that having 13 tanks in the house was pushing it even for me. I have been seeing this sad little giant danio at Walmart for the past 5 months and nobody buys him, what pulls at me is he is a shortbody giant danio. I just have nowhere to put him.

I think I've seen this one before, personally I love it. Would never wish this on a fish but I'd take her out of a bunch in an instant!
for saving a life.
rescued a lot of friends fishes, mostly cichlids, raised them back to top shape and gave um back

Both my RD's in my albums were rescues,not from Petsmart tho.
One was from a small LFS, & another from a person who was down sizing.
I used to rescue Bettas when I was younger.
Almost any fish @ any Petsmart( in my area)could be considered a "rescue case".
The one's in my area are not so educated in the hobby.
When I'm in there getting toys for my dogs, I always hear sale people giving wrong info to would be buyers.
ie: Pleco is fine in a 10G,JD's are fine in a 15-20G,etc.
Yes these fish can live in those tank while young, but many ppl are not prepared to get a 4' or larger tank to house these fish in the near future.
Or when the sell 1 fish when it's meant to be in a shoal of 6 or more. Many times it's about compatible fish too.
I'm not knocking all Petsmarts, just most of the 1's round here cause they're all new.
