That is the name they have on the wholesaler's list....

So they got you to pay $10 bucks for 2 gonners sounds like they won that one....

Don't kid yourselfs guys (and girls if there are any :D) The Pet Industry is a tough place to make a living... even more so when your in the fish business, there are thousands to types of fish for these corp places like Pet smart, Walmart, Petco, Pet supplies plus... it's all about moving fish... they order their pets from a list based on what is proven to sell, like most orders that come in (our own included) they get extra fish that will be a "tank jumper" or a bonus to help make up for losses during shipping ect... They don't care enough to look up what it is... they just care about getting it on the floor so people can see it and buy it... Sometimes they don't even look in the shipping bags to confirm the species (which is how you end up with a tank full of mollies being sold as plecos :screwy:

I got a local store when I paid the price for a JD, $6, for a carpintis that got mised in with them. The other more knowlegeable store, that I like, sells them occassionally starting at $12 for a 2" fish and mine was 4" when I got it.

Sometimes you get lucky when you're going to the cheap bad place for more fish food. =)

But when you go to the cheap bad places to get your supplies the knowledgeable LFS loses and might not make it in the long run then the bad place will be the only place to get your fish.....
