Most people get them in near the end of yr the most for some reason. Never really seen them any other times and if so the prices are higher and size smaller.

Max is supposedly 12" for male and about 10" for females. Mine is about 7-8" but small compared to the one my bro got. He fed much more and his was the primary fish too. His also has red in the tail which no one has been able to answer if thats a tell of M/F. Think we might try a breeding project in the pond when it warms up...

It eats mainly live food but I've been able to get it to eat frozen foods. The only prob is that it doesnt stike right away sometimes.

And if a fish has a nice gash on it, most likely they did it.

Thats nice mine eat large food sticks and silversides which is good wish I could get my barracudas to do the same I call them poor mans African Tiger fish.

another common dumbass remark. I just hate the "poor man's ??". Africans are a PM's SW, Neolamprologus tretocephalus is a PM's Frontosa, etc...:irked:

The only way this one eats non frozen or live is if I make 1 cube/slab of everything mixed.

I am pretty sure they max out around 10-12";)

Chad

Thoeretically, they can reach 28" in the wild. I have seen or heard of one for that matter, reach anywhere near that, but I did have a 14" one pretty recently. I also know of at least one other the same length. Mine grew from 9" to 14" in about 1 1/2 years. Slow growth, but it was growing. Maybe they can reach 18" in captivity. Still a mystery...

nice lookin fish
