The Rapps Orino thread!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i think as long as they are active and eating eagerly, they will pull thru as long as you keep the temps warm and do regular water changes w/ salt. if they stop eating and isolate themselves, you may be in trouble :(

im staying away from the meds, even though Jeff recommended the Jungle brand. too many horror stories!!

Yeah I paniced... seen more spots than a dalmation:ROFL:... so went right away to Meds as I have one little guy that looks in trouble. He came in like that ... Im not going to add no more Meds and see how they go...
They are hungry little dudes... a fly got in the house and flew by the tank... all my little Soldiers swam in a pack to the top left of the tank and one little guy took a lil flight out of the water.... It was cool, my daughter liked it too.

They are some hungry little dudes tho:naughty:

Sweet...
West up big dogg... is this one of the cats I met on Sat?

I hardly use meds too but seen the spots duplicate by the next day (I started with salt the same time I acclimated... but seen no positive results). Hopefuly today when I get off I will see something good./.. atleast no moe spots will work for me:D

I just got a couple more orino from Rich. Great fishes no ich, a bit on the small side compare to Rapps. All of them are now eating blackworms. I am a happy man now.

Chris

GL guys, hope all the ich problem will go away soon.

Soooo... IA Orinos are from Rapps, so they are all the same size (just hair size diffs on all of them)... but if your happy... then thats what counts

The only size diff is the price tag:ROFL:... i paid the "out of my budget" price and jumped in a group buy, when I could of got 14pcs for the same price and pack the Ich in a diff bag:irked:... but Im happy:D

man i couldnt imagine trying to raise anything smaller than Rapp's orinos lol! so has anybody confirmed that TUIC and IA orinos both came from Rio Meta?

This confirmation will probably never come. Even if you grow them out and they look similar. The only thing we can confirm when they grow up is that they should be orino not mono. hahah just kidding. TUIC and IA both know what they are doing. All we have to do is to keep feeding them quality food and keep the water temp. at around 88 and add some salt to the water.

i hear ya, its just cichla folks like to know the point of collection. and especially with orinos since they can look very different. when i talked to jeff, he said even he had trouble finding out where these guys came from, exporter wasnt too willing to give up the info.

but given that both of these batches went up for sale around the same time and are close to the same size, i think it's safe to assume theyre from the same place
