Anyone have any decor ideas? Plan it to get a couple stingrays so cant have too much on the bottom of the tank, I do still want to have the chance of having larger and smaller fish in the tank, which means I need to have lots of stuff for fish to hide in, I love to see the little guys hiding eating flake food and growing up in the large tanks. I plan on putting bottom drains in the tank right now so sand is not going to happen, I will prob just put tile on the bottom. Going to cabelas here they have the large tanks and they have in one a Boat sunken, I love the thought for that. Just need a larger tank for a row boat, I will be able to hang stuff in the tank, prob on one side I will fill it with lots of stuff on the top middle area so all the fish could hide, too bad I would need a ton of drift wood and its not the easiest to come by. I am open to any ideas at all, I also do like to collect stuff myself and put it in the tank so any ideas are great, even if I have to go get it myself.

For lunch went home to let the dog out and looked at it, (the crazing spots im sanding) might take a pic and might not, its ugly now that I have started to sand into the thing. But I am sure its going to work and be worth my while. Update(ill take some pics when I get home so you can get the idea) I am thinking an after pic of either fail or sucess will be in order. I am really interested because nobody does it and this is really a first for many I think. Most people just toss the tanks at this point, I still figure this tank has many years in it. Then later I can buy an amazing setup, prob 2000 gallons glass view panels and cement walls.

pics or it didn't happen.;)

Sure Egon just for you. Sorry no pics this time. But before I sand more ill take some of the crazing.

Simple update worked 4 10hr days at work then drove 2.5 hrs to help dad for 2 days on a rental so this week was really a wash. The crazing on the tank has not spread at all. Its still not deep at all. I finally got the plumber over and he said in a foot the water needs to drop 1/4" for a gravity drain to work. I'm thinking best option for an auto drip as I am liking the idea more and more. So I have about 18 feet to go so at most 5" and the drain is 5" so putting a drain in the sump at about 12" would make a really simple auto drain and I would never have to worry about a pump failing which is what I wanted something that would work no matter what all the time. I would put it in as a 90degree elbow so I could set the water level. I'm waiting on the quote from the plumber to see how much I want to do my self. I still want him to cut into the water lines and run those. I see most people always run their water through a filter unit before going into the tank. I would pimento get awaybfrom those expensive filters so I am thinking of either just adding some prime into the tank always or looking into some other method. So far I know they don't use chlorine in the water here but they do use chromium. So I am going to read iPhone that more. Maybe its not too bad for fish. We have low level 2 and high 4 of chromium..what ever that means. Anyone know more about the toxicity to fish of chromium? ?

Thanks!

Your going to love the drip system. It's my single best upgrade. I have 4 tanks on my drip system now and I'm going on three years with out doing a water change on my 450.

Here are the pics working on the crazing. Kinda hard to see in the one pic bit possible. It looks worse than it is and what else am I to do have to deal with it just can't leave it. uploadfromtaptalk1334007787549.jpguploadfromtaptalk1334007825083.jpg
