Here is a Pic I just took, The tank is going to go right across the wall here. To give you an idea the room from corner to corner is- 17 Feet 10 inches, So this tank is going to take up a good amount of room, But what do you expect its 10 feet long.IMG_1865.JPG Also I am putting in a 36inch wood vanity with a sink on the right, so those doing the math its going to leave me 2 feet 5 inches on each side,

Found these on the clearance rack at Lowes. 6500K is really bright for normal house but for a fish tank they will be perfect and give the chance of having some darker and lighter spots in the tank. Putting them right over the outlets from the pump should give me the shimmer effect. 4 bulbs 4.89 each. The other Costco bulbs are same 6500k uploadfromtaptalk1336766630140.jpguploadfromtaptalk1336766903241.jpg

Got heaters in today and these things are huge. About 20 inches long. 3 Eheim Jager 300 Watt heaters. We will see how they do.

Can't post pic for some odd. Reason though. They are much longer than I thought they would be. But they say they can heat 264 gallons each so we will see how they do.

I keep my 450 heated with 1 300 watt heater. How cold is your house? Acrylic is a good insulator so you may not need that much wattage. Of course if you already bought them then it doesn't matter.

Well I wanted to make sure I was going to have enough for even a hot burst for ich cure or what ever else I might need . I think three just to be safe 2 will do most the work and one for backup. It is the basement so needs some extra heating.

Extra heaters can't hurt. You should look into a controller. I just bought 6 of them after cooking a Cuban gar with a failed heater. it adds an extra layer of safety. I set the controller to 80 ish and the heater to 85. If the heater breaks in the on position it will never get above the 80 set point of the controller. If the controller breaks in the on position the heaters are set to 85. Hopefully both don't break at the same time lol.

Also it's easy to put the heaters in the sump and the controllers temp probe in the aquarium. Heaters in the sump stay on until the temps in the aquarium reach set point. No ugly heaters in the aquarium.

Which controller are you using? I have heard good and bad things about controllers
