Which controller are you using? I have heard good and bad things about controllers

This what I got. You can plug in up to 1500 watts of heaters if needed. Put the temp probe in the tank and put the heaters in the sump.

I have 4 of these and two Aqua Logic TR115SN which are exactly the same thing but cost more. I cooked a Cuban gar with a $10 heater and promised myself that will never happen again. Even my "grow out tanks" use these controllers now. These controllers add a layer of safety and they are very accurate. I have one on my Goonch tank just to monitor temperatures, no heater attached.

Well after much and I really mean much looking around for sand I finally found just what I was looking for. I was getting sick thinking of buying sand at $1.00 or even $2.00 per pound. I wanted sand that was not super fine but also sand that was soft enough for stingrays as that is the whole goal and plan with this project. Its not CaribSea sand but to me it sure seems close to the same stuff in allot of ways. Great grain size very similar to the Caribsea stuff I was looking at. And I got 5.5cf of it even though I think I will only need 5 cf of sand. that should give me a depth of 1.5 inches which I think would be good. this is about 415 lbs of sand 11 bags. LOL its allot but exactly what I have been looking for. Even done up right here locally so I will always have a source for the stuff. They call it paver sand I call it aquarium sand :D Total about 45.001337722861110.jpg

Me too!!!! While I was in Vegas my dad thought he would make it over to texture the walls but that was not done, so tonight we will get rolling on that and we have paint picked out so once we get the texture done and any other sheet rock mud touch up done we will be rolling. Stand plans are made, sump needs to be drilled, then put it all together. I am thinking depending on the glass drilling that I could be one week min 2 weeks max. at this point to having it filled. but dont quote me on that. lol

Nice sand! Can't wait to see it set up!

Here is one of my current tanks, just felt like taking a video. And I had to test out the camera never posted a video or one with 1080P avail.

Have you thought of making a large "fluid bed filter" like contraption to wash all that sand quickly. It does not have to be water tight as it is going to be used 11 times?
