Well I went to Aquarium Adventure in Ohio, the one on Sawmill road and there was this 7 inch RTC in the "tankbuster" tank. They put all of the fish that people can't keep or whatever which were returned in these tanks for people to buy for less than 10 bucks.

His color is awful and all is missing parts of his skin it looks like. Also one of his barbs is red, just totally red. I think it must have some sort of disease.:( I was talking to the people there and I ended up getting him for free.:D He will be going in my 125. Yes I know I will need a bigger tank, no need to hassle me about it.:) I think a plywood tank would be the best bet for cost effectiveness. I'm just going to feed him twice maybe 3 times a week so he doesn't grow as fast which might give me a few extra months, lol.

Here he is.

As you can tell his barbs/whiskers whatever you call it is red. It's just one of them and it's about half of it. What is wrong with him. What do I do. Will be little RTC die.:confused::confused::( Thanks for any help MFK.

Actually...looks like a Bullhead and not an RTC. Bump up the temp and add salt. Cats are usually tough, so I think it'll pull though.

=O

Poor guy! I hope he pulls through!

And he doesn't look like an RTC to me either, but either way, thanks for saving him!

Well after looking at a few pics it does like a bullhead catfish. Huh well maybe he is pretty healthy after all sides the red barb, lol.

I assumed since he had a red tail he was a RTC.

The body shape and to a lesser extent the color look like a bullhead and the red tail may have been caused by injury. Does it look like the tail is damaged?

just a side note, your 125 will be perfect for your bullhead for life. ;) nice pick up.

Not really, but IDK i've never seen an injury turn the color of their skin red, I'll just give it a week and we will see if it goes away.
