Just buy a 4 inch section of 1/4 inch stainless bar. Would be easier to attach (skewer) to food and would cost a woping 25 cents at the most

Hell just get a corkscrew for opening wine bottles and cut the end off - solder a fishing weight or somth'n to one end if it won't sink.
