Well Said.. People like to Overcomplicate things so much in this hobby. The 2 biggest things I must agree with.

Overfilter - If you don't have enough filtration your never going to have good water quality. Overfiltering in general can address a wide range of minute issues that left unchecked can become major ones. prevention is key. Overfiltering prevents so many issues, the question isn't Why? but Why Not?

Patience - So many people want it now, not later. Instint gratification in this hobby just rarely if ever works out in the long run for the fish or the owner. Cycle the tank properly the first time, slowly add stock.

Let me put it this way. If I think a tank needs a canister, i'll add two. Again, obviously if money and space allow.
