What thickness glass did he quote you? Ought to be able to get away with 1/4" or thinner glass on something that's only about 12" tall...

heck, you could probably buy the glass (precut) and put it together yourself for a couple hundred bucks, or less.

i dunno. the builder i checkd with cant do it the length i want. and wants way too much. u know anywere were i can buy glass? again or if anyone knows a builder!! hit me up!!
ps sry to hijack, still cant make my own thread

No problems with the derail it's an odd tank design so if anyone can help feel free to post here.

That would make a very good reef or planted tank. A nice shoaling species would be excellent. Do you know what this tank was used for in the past?
yeah... but it would be a bi*ch to ligh up with the aprroperiate power of lighting and gettin water circulation would suck!

To be honest it's got a metre long flouro that is quite intense in the middle and falls off to the sides which give quite a nice lighting effect. As for the circulation, the canister input and output are at the same end at the moment and water is moving 3/4 of the way along the tank, if this proves to be a problem a longer pipe will be added so the input and output are at opposite ends.

It would be great to set it up as a planted tank but one step at a time and yes lighting would be a real pain then.

Haha, I do this all the time...

Love the tank over the expensive electronics, lol
Although it was test filled before it was placed in position, it was filled up very, very slowly;)

Update:

Well Dan's new 'bogwood' isn't so out of 3 pieces he bought only one is staying the tank as that one is bogwood. Nitrite is fine after his new favorite LFS sold him a test kit, more importantly nitrate is zero.
