120G, 79F, weekly 50% water changes. feedings include a mix of dried and frozen krill, pellets, bio gold, flakes, bloodworms, brine shrimp.

Awsome... Can't imagine why he's not growing. I might be tempted to get the temp up around 80F but that's in my world. Sounds like you're doing everything right. Maybe reduce the percentage of weekly change water. Could be you're freaking him out changing that much water every week. Just a guess.

Well I think part of the reason for his lack of growth was the period where he would barely eat anything. For a while I was surprised he survived. I believe he had internal parasites at one point but doesn't seem to be the case anymore. No more stringy poop and a huge appetite now. Hopefully I will see some growth soon. :\

I keep my heat much higher than that and mine are fine..

does heat temperature really affect the growth rate becuz i dont want my fish 2 grow fast

Too an extent. Raising the temp raises metabolism. Keep the water at normal temp don't over feed and it should keep them growing slow.

:iagree:

I keep all my tanks at 82 degrees F.

if he's not growing very fast it could be to do with the breeding, 'cause if it's inbred it might not grow to full size , although having said that it looks like a nice specimen so i'm probably wrong! I've kept plenty of central and south americans and some did grow slower than others so it could be in it's genes seeings as your maintenance and feeding schedule is good, maybe adding some natural(frozen) fish to it's diet will help, either way it's still a nice fish:)

I'm not a 100% sure but I think it might be a female. That along with your theory of the parasite might explain alot. I was reading your sig and I'm wondering if this is the 2'' GT. If so, holy sh**...Aug of 06 and 2''?

Yeah it's the same one. 2.5 MAYBE 3" at this point. But yes very very little growth. I'll keep you all updated about this in the next six months or so now that he/she is eating.
