My ten gallon has become overrun with snails. hundreds of little snails that came in from the lfs. Is there some fish that will eat them. I've heard loaches but what kind? Any help is much appreciated.

show us a picture? so ur snails went breeding crazy. wats in ur tank?

clown loaches

manual removal is your best bet mot things that eat the snails become to agressive or out grow a 10 gal

just chuck in a bit of salad and each day remove it and replace ,after a few days most will be gone

Thanks for the info. There is one cory cat, two priscilla tetras and a lamp eye tetra. Aggressive? I've been bitten twice!--lol I'm trying to attach a pic

Those are Malaysian trumpet snails. They will be hard to get rid of, but will not harm your fish, and actually help your tank, as they will clean up left over food. If you want to decrease their numbers watch how much you feed, as it is the biggest cause of overpopulation.

my oscar picks my malaysian trumpet snails off the glass, chews on them for a few seconds then spits them out. its unclear if that kills them or not but so far the pop has not gotten out of hand. trumpet snails have hard and odd shaped shells making it difficult for a lot of preds to kill them.

i've only found 3SAFE ways to get rid of them.
1: remove everything from the tank, boil the gravel and bleach everything else. just make sure you rinse everything you bleach.
2: remove all your fish and O.D. with aquarium salt and let it run for a day or two, do a 100% water change and add fish.
3: get a big puffer. (not fish safe)

If the loaches don't start eating them, crush a few in the tank to get help them get started.

And make sure you 'Thank' your LFS.
