A big retic or anaconda eating a person? It happens. In captivity it is def possible.

No, it doesn't happen. There has not been a single instance of a person actually being consumed by a snake that I am aware of. Stories, yes, but never any proof. If we didn't have shoulders it would be possible, but we do, so it isn't. They just can't work their mouths around something like that.

First story:
A story from some children is the only evidence it happened, the child was never named, the snake was never found. Plus, I would LOVE to see a 20ft African Rock Python.. It would be the equivalent of a six foot arowana.

Second story:
Nobody was even eaten. A few bites, which were more than likely from provoked snakes defending themselves, the humans obviously give the snakes reason to defend themselves..

Third story: (What a reliable source, by the way.. The picture isn't even a Burmese Python, it's a Green Anaconda.)
Anyone who knows crap about how snakes go about killing their prey would tell you that the snake is not the killer in this instance. The truth of the story is this: The snake was found on top of the child, not wrapped around her. The child died of asphyxiation, with multiple bites on her head, neck, and arms. That is not a snake attack, A snake bites once, holds on, wraps around, and stays wrapped around. There would not be multiple bite wounds, and the snake would not have been simply laying on top of the child. Also, I have seen pictures of said python, it was small and emaciated, and it would be a real stretch for it to be capable of killing a child. Now, the parents.. Huge addicts, meth, cocaine, all that wonderful stuff.
Now ask yourself, is the snake the only thing in that household that could have choked the child? No.
If the snake were provoked into biting in defense, could multiple bite marks be inflicted upon a dead body? Yes.
Could said snake then be placed on the body by the killer? Yes.
Would most people accept without questioning that the snake was the one to kill the child? Yes.

Just think about that a little bit.

I did see some photographic evidence, but those are rare and in between. Either way, they were in rural locations and I'm too lazy to go around finding these photos.

I doubt a snake will size you up; there's no need for that, and snakes have been known to die from consuming overly large prey items.

Discovery magazine pretty reliable IMO.

How many times have you seen snake prints in grass? Never.

Assuming you are knowledgable about keeping reptiles and saying one can not be fatal is downright ignorant. It's like saying the great whites off Cali a few years ago didn't kill all those people because they were never caught and no video was recorded.

Asphyxiation is the blockage of air passage. A baby under 2 years could be killed simply by a large snake laying over them. One of the leading causes of death is smothering of babies in blankets due to moving on sleep or poor positioning. Sadly the victim is a minor and their will probably be no pictures released past courtroom walls.

There have been recorded deaths from large constrictors but never has one fully been able to consume a person. All of the stories of "man eating snakes" are just wives tales. This picture caused an uproar but was discovered to be fake as well.

There are some more photos here: http://arachnophiliac.info/burrow/oddities_man_eating_snakes.htm. The first picture I believe is real but the snake was unable to get itself around the mans shoulders and could not swallow him. The next few pictures are all fake or with a fake story.
