They are not dangerous if a bit of common sense is used. If you do not know how to handle a snake, when you see it, keep a distance, it is not going to come after you and I am sure you could run much more quickly than a large python if it did (which it wouldn't). Keep in mind, more people dies from random pieces of airplanes falling out of the sky than from snakes.

Can a large constrictor kill any human? Yes.

Can a large constrictor eat a small child? Yes.

Can a large constrictor eat an average adult human? No.

Will a snake that receives proper care try to actually eat you? Probably not.

Do snakes size you up by stretching out by you? No.

It's really as simple as that.
 
Snakes are predators and they are dangerous per se. Treat them with respect. Thats what i´m saying. A large anaconda or reticulated python can easily kill a human. I had a yellow anaconda and her power was incredible. She was agressive. I never got bitten though. If you act careful you can minimize the risk. But it should be noted, that a large constrictor can also ruin your life with one bite. I know a guy who got bitten in the face from a large Boa constrictor constrictor. And one side of his face is covered with scars
 
Oh, I'm not debating whether or not they could kill a person. What I'm saying is that they are incapable of consuming a person.

Bwahahaha, excellent explanation.

I've heard this story for so many people so many times, and it's always the same, "My friend had this python...." That alone should prove this story false. That's not how snakes hunt, either. If they had to stretch themselves out against their prey every time they needed to eat they'd scare it off every time and starve to death.
