Cheers Dan. (Limey style seems to like....)

Snappy is a quite pretty CST , her face mekes me think in that camuflage painting of the special forces.

You could have name her green beret, commando..... but I guess those aren't good names for a girl.

She is pretty, isn't she? :grinno:

I like the way the pattern continues right through her eyes.

HOW COME MY SNAPPER NEVER OPENS HIS MOUTH!!!!
Is it a common? They only open their mouth to feed (or when threatened). Only gator snappers sit with their mouth open.

here's my common snapper, there's quite a story of how i got him. hes the nicest turtle i have and seems to like to come out of his tank quite a bit. he loves baths and takes the opportunity of not being in his tank to drop a nice log everytime. he also roams the livingroom on occasion, the ferret is terrified, they must have had a runin i am unaware of. it took him a while to get comfortable with the livingroom though.
a quick question, i have had him for 3 years now and haven't had any problems with not giving him uvb light which i have recently learned is a necessity for many reptiles, do turtles not need it?

For my experience uv ligth is not 100% needed on turtles as long as they have a very varied diet, with calcium and vit d3;) However uv ligth does seem to increase their life quality and growth in young turtles. Some of my best have been raised on it:D Of corse during MBD uv ligth is needed for the healing process
