last night I fell asleep and thank god I am a light sleeper. Because i heard a bang and I didnt think much of it at first but then I heard flopping?? So I turned on my bedroom light and noticed my wolffish jumped straight out of my tank and landed on my hardwood floor! So I scooped him up and now I have the very small portion of my fish tank covered in the back that was showing. I guess the stories were true, has anything like this ever happened to you guys?

i am glad you saved him and lesson learned

ive read a story here once, a lung fish , 2 feet long landed on the guys blanket(sleeping). woke up and that thing was staring right at him.. yikes.

i had an experience with a convict cichlid, tough buggers.jumped out of my tank, when i woke up , its right in the hardwood floor, not moving, also dried up. i was about to throw it in the trash, it twiched.

i gave it the benefit of the doubt and put it in the cup, with warm water. and the f* kr is alive !!!!!!!! miracle i say.

haha yes thats good he survived! But I would have been so upset if my common died he's one of my favorite fish and already around 8 to 9 inches!

My husband heard my tilapia jump in the middle of the night and put it back. If the fish hadn't been so beat up in the morning I wouldn't have believed him. He's still here and looks no worse for the wear. I keep weights on the lid of his tank now.

An 11 year old eel jumped from my salt tank during the night once as well. When I got up I found him all curled up on the floor I shrieked. I put him back and held my breath while he slowly uncurled and began to pump his gills. He shed his entire slime coat and looked terrible. He died about 3 days later. His belly had huge marks of bruising and such on it.

I had a pretty aggressive elephant fish once. I changed him to a slightly smaller tank over the TV self until i could think of either giving him to someone or keeping him a solitary fish. I kept the lid open.

Later when i checked the tank, he's goes and after searching for a while, found him behind the the self covered in a layer of dust. I never though Elephant fish could Jump!!
