a few years back i ws at petsmart and a little common pleco jumped out of one of the tanks right in front of me, after the shock of seeing a pleco fly i picked it up and out it back in the tank, none of the employees even noticed

when i was a kid we had 2 oscars jump out of the tank we were able to save one but the other we didnt notice. i learned now to keep all holes covered

In the past, I had a couple of wolf fish jump out of my 125g. Put them back immediately and they were fine. Never happened again, because I put velcro straps and weights on the hood.

i woke up one mouring to find my wolffish dead on the floor...i was so mad! Second i had a crawfish climb out of the tank... i found him downstairs... thirrd while cleaning my S.A. tank my oscar flipped out i had the lid off the tank and he jumped strait out of the tank luckily he landed on carpet that was covered with towels i scooped him up and put him back in that was when he was about 5 inches now hes 10 inches and 1 big old fat oscar

I had a wolffish (Hoplias malabaricus) jump out of my tank even with a top on (it hit the top so hard it knocked it off). I luckily was in the next room and heard the racket and put him back in with only some minor fin damage. I have seen a nature show with footage of them jumping very high and far out of the water in their native habitat (which is odd to me because of their sedentary, primarily bottom dwelling lifestyle).

a few years ago, I though my JD was eating the siamese algae eaters in my tank . . . then one day, I had to go behind the tank for something, and found 4 dead SAEs on the floor behind the tank . . .

I opened up my front lid on my garage tank (heated 55gallon), only the night light was on in the tank, and I hadn't turned on the garage light... I was going to give them some breakfast and I hear a 'sploosh' and see a silver streak fly into the air, past my head onto the concrete, about a 6' drop-plus hang time! !!CRAP!!

I couldn't see him, but my biggest Bala Shark, about 5" long, leaped out and was flopping around under some stuff I had stored in front of the tank...I could hear him, but couldn't see him, I franticly ran over and turned on the lights and moved everything out of the way. Found him, picked him up-dropped him!!- he kicked out of my hands- finally got him back into the tank maybe 2-2 1/2 minutes out.

I held him in the water a bit, brushing off the dust and dirt... Still swimming strong 2 weeks later and only a couple of scales missing, all but maybe one has fully grown back. Curious thing though, not one just yet for ANY of the other 2 big ones, or the 3 little ones since the incident, they used to jump whenever I got near the tank... crazy morning!
