The story of how I got to where I am today. Part 2

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Both of my lfs' were selling Flowerhorns, I looked at them, but I wasn't going to buy. Optimum Aquarium was selling a Super Red Dragon at 4" for $130 and Premier Aquatics had a Blue Diamond at 4" for $160 (If you don't recall these stores reread the story. Optimum is near the top and Premier at the ich). The biggest fish that I plan on getting is a Tire Track Eel. I was going to buy it at 12" for $40, which sounds resonable. I was expecting $60-75. These eels get two to three times that size.

Apparently they do discounts when buying multiple fish. I asked about a red terror which was like 0.5-1" and $25. I asked why it was so expensive. The guy I was talking to said he didn't know but he would check for a discount. He told me that he could only apply one if I bought more than one.
You have a very expensive lfs!

You should try looking online at craigslist and local buy/sell forums. I have gotten insanely good deals that way! A lot of people looking to get rid of fish and even freebies! Normally the people who are serious have very reasonable prices.
