But my Severum doesn't eat out of my hand. He just goes for my fingers, not the pellets. I guess my fingers look better :l

I would hold frozen fish pieces above the water and he would leap out to grab them. I never actually put my hand in the tank with food lol everytime I tried it he took too much interest in my fingers so I knew he'd bite me.

I might have to wear diving gloves lol. But seriously I'd rather have him bite and eat pellets readily than have him hide and not eat while I'm watching and him not bite.

I have 7 severums and I feed them by hand so they associate my hand with food now and so they always bite my fingers even if you just stick your hand or fingers in the tank they all shoot up to bite you thinking that you have food for them which i Iove they all sit at the top of the tank and beg for food as soon as I walk in the room and they stay at the top till they get fed lol

You have trained him to the idea that if he bites the fingers, food falls into the water.

when I have my hand in the tank cleaning my oscar and severum brush on my hand haha never bite me though I think there like getting a free back scratch

I love my Rotkeil severum. He's more like a puppy than a fish. Always swims up and wags his tail back and forth.
