The stupid... it burns

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just found this - I had made a new thread about it - couldn't make sense of the subject line.

Next thing we'll see is a flood of "fake snakeheads" (bowfin) reports!

As soon as I clicked the link, I was like, "Here we go with the pacu again." lol. In truth, I probably wouldn't know the difference from that distance, but the influx of articles of late had me clued in. I agree with Maxx, shame on the zoo for feeding into it.... And good for you guys for correcting them!

Some MFKers with "credentials" should comment on this article.
Incomprehensible for a zoo official to make this error, particularly being cited as a source to the public.
Letters to the zoo, higher on chain of command seem in order. possibly more far reaching in future instances.

What pisses me off too is even if it was a real piranha they are falsely demonizing the fish. Throughtout the article they keep saying how it is gonna attack people and take off fingers etc.

because of all the piranha movies, the general public really has nothing else that'd trump that interest.
let's face it, this writer is trying to build a marketable career. not an accuracy contest. Hence, modern day "journalists". it's not about truth or facts, it's all about what sells.

Yea, pretty sad.
