i am setting up my 60 gallon fish tank growout tank for my pbass. which is better to use the sump or the canister? which one is relatively cheaper?

I'm a huge advocate for sumps whenever possible, but for a 60g tank a canister might be more economical.

which ones do u guys recommend i dont want anything to pricey though. im stuck on which canister to get

XP3s are not my favorite filter, but they get the job done and aren't too pricey.

However, if you really want to save some cash go with a HOB and a couple sponge filters.

The sump wins over the canisters.
On a 60 gallon use a Aquaclear box filter one on each side the 50-70 gallon ones. Or just used the 110 gallon aquafilter. Always over filter saves you time and energy.
A good canister is the Magnum 350.

The mag350 is ok, but IME I would take the XP3 over it any day (and I'm not a huge fan of any canister LOL)

X2 at that size a canister just might be the right choice.

I would go with the rena before the mag because the rena has far better bio unless your getting the mag 350 pro with the bio wheel. If thats the case id go with the mag because its a water polisher plus bio.

would the eheim classic canister rated for 66 gallons be good to use for the pbass? canisters offer a better bio load than HOB right?
