yeah, ive heard of them being that expensive in some places.
they are not exported very often, so by the time they get to the LFS, the prices can get pretty crazy.

as far as i know, nobody is bringing them in anymore. but one of my boys might still have a couple for sale. let me check.

as far as "the best" LFS, it depends what youre looking for
corals is good for SW and some tanks/equipment
aquascapes is good for plants/DW (and they usually have some nice fish. everything in that store is kept clean, and looks really good)
Moanalua/Pets Plus/ Mililani good for equipment and fish.
Pets Discount has good prices on the basics (guppies, ornamentals, cichlids, tetras, stuff like that)
got a few other places too. theyre all hit or miss. depends when they get their shipment, and when you get there.
