Ok... Three weeks in. Today we had a student cuffed and arrested. Three more were suspended and they were all picked up by cops later in the day. That took care of 4 of the dozen highschoolers we have at the whole school!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately I work with the middleschoolers and we are a bit more crowded. Good news is my gt's bred in the classroom tank. Kids love watching momma herd the fry around the tank.

:eek::eek::eek::eek: Stay strong!!!!

I got a free reeftank for the classroom this week (craigslist rocks!). Lots of coral, sweet light, and even a chiller. If I could get ahold of a 48" light system I would have enough for two reeftanks. Anyone have a pair of MH's they dont need?

PICS!!! Congrats...

2nd week survived!

So how are my fellow teachers surviving?

I am counting down the days already. I work at a year round school and have the entire month of November off!!!!!!

My first quarter ends Friday... Time has flown by. This year's kids are eager to learn, and behavior problems have been minor.

We started the year with all middle grades doing Science Fair projects. The students grumbled and complained (as did some of the parents), but in the end the projects were very cool with parents and staff alike being very impressed.

One girl built a hovercraft, another transmitted her I-Pod over a laser, another boy modified toilet paper tubes so that a single tube could hold up his 300+ Lb father. The creativity of the kids in selecting projects was amazing, and made me appreciate my role as a teacher. So far a great year!

The aquaculture program is also getting rather large. We now have 3 three reef tanks running, an experimental pond made from a 125g in a window, likely my 220g from home will be brought in as a rift lake display in the sixth grade homeroom, and all the other tuff spread throughout the building. All this with almost zero budget!

Seems to be going by pretty fast. Critter collection is growning too. Have an eastern hognose snake and preying mantis for the kids to enjoy now. Classes have been small, which is fine with me.

Wow, im already doing report cards!!!!!

CRaziest day of the year!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

Kids are nuts today!!!! Lots of no shows, a few suspensions, a ton of giggles. At least it's on a weekend this year. I won't have to deal with hangovers (the students, not mine....)

^ party pooper!!!
