beautiful pics!
Thank you!
Does the aquaclear have biomedia in it, too, like ceramic doo-hickies, or is it just a sponge?

And did you test your tap for ammonia and nitrates yet?
Ceramic things and the sponge. I took out the carbon a while ago...although do have replacements for all of the three.

Haven’t tested the water in a while. Last time I did, I believe ammonia was 0 and nitrates were either 0 or 5. Will retest.

Tell the del mts came in on a plant. Probably.
Water params for my city but the actual max allowable is for all city waternation wide.

That’s so interesting! They need to get the Lead out. You are in Flint, right? You guys have safe drinking water yet?

Here in north central Florida we have a lot of either fluorine or chlorine in the water. I’ll have to double check the utility page for the area.
I would take out the snails before it gets out of hand.
Haven’t seen any more since. I’ll either take them out or use it as an excuse to get a puffer. Jk....kinda. But I won’t get one though.

Yeah in Flint. We are in the township though so were not effected by the change in supply, our water stayed coming from Detroit. Now it all comes from Port Huron so we will see, so far reports are good.

I'd say let them mix it just cuz I'm curious how that will go. :)

Have you cleaned your biomedia lately? You need do to that with tank water only so you don't kill the BB, but maybe there's a lot of crud in there?

Ultimately.... time to upgrade. :D

Thanks for replying so fast. I was afraid that the bottom layer would turn anaerobic, but tried to see if the del would help me mix. Not really lol.

That is promising! Glad you guys weren’t effected. It still floors me how different the water can be even a few hours away. I lived in Chicago for a few years and am a little biased towards the water there.
Those pics look great
Thank you! Good to hear from you.

I’ve Been having wayyy too much fun with the poly photoshoots lately!

That was the original plan for the sand. Of course the del didn’t bury at all for several hours, so I caved and did it myself. Hehe.

For the biomedia I clean it once a week by rinsing it-and the sponge-in a bucket of tank water.

For the upgrade: I’ve been looking diligently to find a good deal. Still working on the negotiating part though.
